In case you were wondering about me...

Well it's been a while since I've posted--which means there's either nothing new to report, nothing bad to report, or I'm just too busy to report! I think there's partial truth to each one of those--we are quite harried with flying around for all the year-end (school year, that is) stuff; Peter's involved in both soccer and track, Leah in soccer and all three are merrily tripping along with music involvement things that tend to crop up at this time. In addition to it all, and not in the least begrudgingly, we're gearing up to care for a weekend baby-sitting job for friends in our church. We love the little munchkins, and they feel like family to us, so it will be fun.
In the mean time, I should be folding laundry and tidying up my living room in preparation for Hannah's cello teacher coming to give her a lesson. Why am I blogging? I don't have time!

Flying High!

I wasn't able to witness it personally, but Mark was fortunate enough to catch this awesome shot of Peter right as he sailed over a hurdle at yesterday's track meet. I just love this picture!

Oh what a Night!

It was just too beautiful of a day and evening to pass up the opportunity to sit out by the fire and roast hotdogs and marshmallows...;
Now its time to put the kiddos, the mama and the papa to bed!

Remembering that its not about me

Yeah, my blog resembles Steph's, but the truth is, she is a HUGE encouragement to me, as was this post. So I'm sharing it with you, that you might be encouraged, too.

And just to clarify, I'm like the one in the chair, my strength is in my God, the Lord my Savior alone!

Soccer, Soccer and MORE Soccer!

Yesterday, we got a bit chilled as we watched Peter's team play their first soccer game of the season. Brrrrrr! They won though, so it was okay.
TODAY, we got B-L-O-W-N A-W-A-Y by a stiff south breeze as Peter's team got defeated in their second game of the season...then we drove back homeward to get to Leah's first soccer game, which HER team won!
So we're finally home for the night, and who's the most tired and ready to go to bed? MOM!

On the job front, the search is still on, so keep on storming the gates for us and with us.

Digging up dirt

Literally! I decided that I wanted to expand our vegetable garden this year. We had a flower garden adjacent to it, but on Saturday, we dug those out. Sorry to all you flower lovers out there, but I no longer have peonies or lilies in my backyard. I did save a small bit of lily and moved it to a spot near my back door. The peony bush had been where it was for a L-O-N-G time! I think the roots went down about three feet! So when all this is said and done, we'll have about doubled the size of our garden (sorry, Mark--I know you do most of the weeding...) and moved the excess sod to alongside our driveway. So hopefully this will mean that I'll have lots of veggies to can and eat. I'm planning on putting in potatoes, tomatoes, a few peppers, maybe some lettuce...hmmmm...onions? I don't know!

The Invisible Woman

this encouraged me...

Thanks to Steph, I went to the source of the narrative I posted and found the video of one of my favorite dramatists, Nicole Johnson, telling the story herself....
